Green Growing Monster

This plant growing in the ground has grown in this flower garden for the past three years. In the past it has been small and not covered much space. It would vine some and bloom a few blossoms.

But this year, something happened - the right combination of water and sunshine. It has become a monster right before my eyes.

I don't know for sure what kind of plant it is...something from the morning glory genus though. It has pale blue flowers shaped like a morning glory - only a bit smaller. The leaves are not really like a morning glory. I have looked at web sites of various wild flowers and none of their "wild morning glory" plants look like this. Who knows, maybe it is a mutuant from my morning glories from other flower beds.

Next year I plan on putting up a large trellis for it to spread around 'til its hearts content.

Just in case you are interested, the plant in the back that is growing profusely is a cypress fern. It is very lacy- has a red flower - comes back each year and next year it too will have a large trellis.
