Decorating - My Style

When it comes to decorating - my style can not be considered any one particular one. As you know outside I had lots of things that would bc considered "primitive", some in the house is "country", others are somewhat "Victorian", and still others have a "theme", and a place or two looks sort of "Modern".

I suppose you could call me a mixed up crazy lady - but I am happy!

Yesterday during an excursion to Dollar Tree I came across three vinyl wall stickers. One was a "family" saying and another had a "friends" theme. I will show you the third one shortly. I bought all three of them. The ones for family and friends will probably go in the hall amidst the pictures - but after we paint there this summer.

First thing I did was go thru my selection of garage sale frames to find one appropriate for the saying and the location. Then it was time for a paint job from the horrible gold. I have decided I like the black paint used for painting charcoal grills. It seems to be the perfect color between a matte and a glossy black. Seems to appear old looking but with a touch of shine...somewhere in the middle.

100_1280100_1287 Since this saying is special I did not want to place it in open public like area. The designated place was the bathroom just off the bedrooms. 100_1282 The frame seemed to fit right in with the rest in the bathroom.

This shows the other wall in the bathroom. Wall color is a warm yellow.100_1290 100_1292 Since this room does not have crown molding this border was selected. There is much discussion on to have border or not...I like it. It is definitely a personal preference.

So this last decorating episode was not expensive...less than three dollars. Plus I enjoyed the process...priceless.

You are my kind of girl when it comes to decorating. First of all, I love that 'Always Kiss Me Goodnight' saying. I love the black frame you used, and it fits wonderfully in your bathroom. As you know, I have many styles too, and every room in my house has wallpaper border.
Good job. It all looks wonderful!
be blessed,
Michelle

You have been one busy gal since I've been gone! This frame is great. Your photo shows the black paint on it nicely-I'll have to try that paint on some outdoor things that need spruced up.
Love the wagon!!! I want one. :)

Amelia, I love all that you did here! Hmmm...I'm gonna have to make a run to the dollar store for sure.

Love the frames and the mirrors. I think it all looks perfect together and I definitely think you could use that bowl! ;)

On a side note, I came over to tell you that for some reason your comments always touch a soft place in my heart. I am thankful that our paths have crossed due to the blogging world.

I love what you have done with simple things you can find at the dollar store. I have always been a fan of the dollar store and with a touch of your own creativity you can create some very crafty things like seen in your blog. Sayings are one of the best ways to add character and charm to a house :)

That saying looks so nice in that frame.....and everything in that room blends so nicely together. The wonderful part is you did it all without spending a fortune.

My house is like yours....lots of different styles, color, textures going on. I don't like too much matchy stuff....I like variety.
