I need to get busy and make up some pie dough and put in the freezer. It won't be long until the peaches will be ready - and then - shortly after that the apples will ripen.
These limbs are loaded. Cross your fingers we don't get a high wind and cause the branches to break from the heavy load. The birds have been trying to get their share so Leon has put some metal "flying objects" hanging from the branches. So far, this has worked pretty well for the lower branches. We can't get to the top branches so the birds can get theirs high up.
Looks like we will have a good crop this year. These don't freeze too well...they get sort of mushy. However, I have not had anyone turn away a slice of pie made with them yet.
