Yard Decoration

100_2470 This is the only Christmas decoration we have in the yard this year. With Leon recovering from his surgery and the weather being cold/nasty nothing was put out. That is, until today, weather in the 60's - some wind but not bad. With Leon sitting in the golf cart I drilled hole in tree - drove in big big nail and then hung the large wreath. We both worked on fixing some anchoring wires to steady it against the ever blowing Oklahoma wind. This wreath is 48 inches across and 48 inches top to bottom. It was created by cutting a large circle in 3/4 inch plywood and stapling many, many strands of greenery - then adding the pine cones, balls, etc. I made it about 6 or 7 years ago...it has been placed in several places, but this is first time on a tree.

Next year we will put out lights - but that is all this year.

Today Leon felt well enough to go to Sunday School - Praise the Lord for each day of improvement he is experiencing.

Well, I am very happy to hear that Leon felt well enough to attend Sunday School. That is very good news!

Love the wreath, looks very nice hanging on the tree. We did not put out any yard decorations, nobody sees them but us anyway, but I do usually put up some. Just haven't had the time this year.

You don't need a lot of decorations with that beautiful view! You all get well and stay well. :)

Glad your husband is doing better. That is a blessing.

I'm not pulling as much decorations out this year as usual, though I don't have the same reason as you. : ) It is just nice to keep it more simple and not do so much. I do this every so many years.

Your wreath looks nice. Even just a little Christmas cheer is still fun to see.
