Not all of you are bird lovers like I am - so if looking at birds is not something you enjoy seeing or reading about - just go on to another blog.
However, for the rest of you I have some new pictures of some of the birds coming around the Watkins' house now. Oh by the way, the two geese and their babies have not been around for about a week now....don't know what happened. But another couple (Jack and Jill) have two small babies and they are on the pond. They have not come to the back yard yet...but maybe in time they will realize what a gourmet meal awaits them in the form of the bird food we put out. Well, maybe not really gourmet but better than the average meal they obtain from digging around in the grass and weeds.
<This is the best I could do to get a picture of these bluebird eggs. The birdhouse is small...so I just stuck my camera in and snapped...this is what I got. The humming birds arrived about three hours after I put out the feeders. They are certainly interesting to watch with their buzzing around. So far I have counted just three - but will probably have more as the season gets warmer.
Another favorite bird of mine. Each year we have a barn swallow that raises babies in the corner of our car port. The other day I counted 5 or 6 eggs - can't remember which) - next time I looked in the nest there were babies. In order to take the pictures I used a hand mirror to reflect the babies and then used my camera to take a picture of the mirror...all the time standing on my tippy toes.
Until next post - enjoy the blessings of life!
Amelia

I love birds! I'm jealous. I put my hummingbird feeders out last week and haven't seen a one yet. Maybe they are all hanging out down your way until it gets a little warmer up here. Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!

Oh my word..those baby birds are so sweet!!!! I love birds...I keep feeders out all year long..our property backs up to a huge tree line and it is a haven for birds of all kinds...I have a pair of Swallows on my front porch right now sitting on a nest...I just couldn't imagine not being able to walk outside and watch the birds everyday! Beautiful post girl! I hope you have a fantastic week!
I 'aint going anywhere..I love you birds and all.
Been there done that with a mirror to get into the nest. LOL!
AND yippee-you have blue birds too!!! Mine sure have been very protective of the nest, I try to leave it alone. I will put my ear up to the box soon to listen for chirps. :)
Blessings to you too!
Good Morning, Amelia...I love birds, so I really enjoyed your pictures! They are nesting all around here, too. I have to be careful when I water flowers, they don't like to be bothered and make quite a fuss! LOL!
Thanks for sharing these! :) ~hugs, Rhonda
I love birds and nests. Looks like y'all have a great variety to enjoy. We have some bushes which need to be trimmed, but I refuse because they are such a fantastic home to birds in our yard. They feel safe there. I love cardinals. We have a dad and mamma in our bushes.
Love the barn swallow nest.
Hi Amelia! Your baby birds are precious. Do you know what kind they are? You are so smart to put the mirror there.
My clematis is in the ground. I have several. They've all come from Lowe's or TLC.
How precious! I just love this time of year when the birds are singing and hatching! It is so relaxing just watching them!

I love your birds! The hummingbird picture is great. Thank you for sharing!
What great photos. Thank you so much for sharing.
Aloha,

I love birds too! These photos are fabulous! There aren't any nests that I could get pictures of around here. There are too many squirrels so the birds tend to nest high up.
I am thinking of getting a wingscapes for my backyard though. If you google that you'll find some wonderful pictures on their website.
So smart!! Brilliant maneuvers to get those photos! Cardinals are a favorite of mine, too. We used to get lots of hummingbirds in our backyard in OK. They are a little miracle to watch!
