A Different Use

In yesterday's post I showed an oval picture with children dancing around the maypole...at that time I mentioned how I liked oval shaped frames. When I saw this one I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. 100_0790 This frame has now become a tray. Removed the maypole picture and replaced it with fabric to co-ordinate with the frame colors and what was going to be placed on it. These candle sticks were some of the things I found while treasure hunting last weekend...modified the color some though. Purchased new candles and now I have a new arrangement for the side board table.

This is a close up picture of the fabric used in the frame/tray. The fabric is really darker than indicatd in this picture...I think the flash reflected back and appears lighter. Anyway, you get the idea of what I did.

Always fun to figure out a new and different way to use something.

Tell me the latest "project" you accomplished in giving an old item a new repurposed life.

What a clever idea. It's not anything that we've done much before - repurposing - but now we've got some time I'm sure we'll be trying it out.

Great idea - and when you light the candles, lots of light will be reflected!

Nice idea Amelia!

I rescued a treadle sewing machine base at a junk store. It is sitting in my garage along with a wire brush for removing the rust and some flat black paint. When I have time, I'm going to paint it and then put a nice wooden top on it to make a small side table for my family room.

Hi Amelia, Great idea! And I love the fabric you used, very pretty! The candlesticks were a great find, too! I haven't been quite so blessed in "my hunts" the past couple of weeks!

The clipboard project turned out really cute, too! Hope things went well for your grandaughter's wedding! :) ~hugs, Rhonda

You could have a second career as a decorator......one who works on a budget! LOL On second thought, you have a second career named Leon, right?

Great ideas for found treasure.

Love the tray idea. That is a wonderful repurpose.

I am working on a basket that I guess would be a repurpose. It is going to be for when I get to photograph new babies (my sis-in-law is due in July). It also has to fit in my house somewhere too.
