MLW meets GPS

MLW = Melvin Leon Watkins

GPS = Global Positioning System

MLW ( better known as my sweet husband) has a new toy as of this past Friday. He has been talking about getting a GPS for quite some time. What finally helped him make the dicision was this past Monday night while he and another guy from church was trying to find some people that had visited the church.

For the past several Monday nights Leon and Tony have spent too much time driving around the county trying to find the addresses of visitors we have had at church. It seems like all they get are the addresses of all the country people. For 911 reasons all homes are to be marked with their address - but you can bet your last dollar that has not happened in so many of the locations. (Sure hope they don't need an ambulance in a hurry.)

Of course, we know the GPS probably won't be 100% perfect all the time - but we will be happy with the ones it helps locate.

Yes, it is true men are just little boys - their toys cost more - my sweet husband was no different...he has had more fun exploring all the details of what it can do.

My hubby connects his to the cigarette lighter and keeps it on the dash when we drive to Boston - just so he can see how far we need to go. He also geocaches with it -which I also enjoy.

How neat! Last year I heard a preacher tell a funny story! He got a GPS system and his grandson was setting it up! His grandson went through the features and they got to the "voice" that you wanted the system to reply in...male or female. He told his grandson to make it the male voice, because he had listened to a woman for over 40 years tell him how to drive and where to go! He needed a change! LOLOL! ~Rhonda :)

If it makes them happy and you can afford it, they need those toys just like we need fabric! My kids are big into the electronic stuff, I have problems working most of it so will pass.

You are right about the plant being a Chenille..I googled it and found out they are HARD to grow...needs lots of water and humidity...it is already looking really bad so I doubt it will be alive much longer. I am not good with plants, at all ! The inside ones tend to bother me more than bring joy!!
Thanks a bunch...
