Blue and White Treasures

You all know how much I like the colors of blue and white when it comes to glass ware. Plus, you know I like bargains as well.

Yesterday I accomplished both objectives with a trip to my very favorite treasure store. These items told me they had to come home with me and join the rest of my family of blue and white glass ware.

The cobalt blue plate is not a saucer-I just have the cup sitting on it. I think it is a salad or dessert plate...just don't know for sure...but who cares it is a beauty. The white piece might be a gravy bowl but there is not a opening in the lid for the ladle like most gravy bowls. Plus it seems too large to be a candy dish...perhaps it is just a dish and one can use however they choose. I certainly am not going to lose any sleep over its intended use.

The best part is all of these items cost less than $4.00...quite a bargain, don't you agree?

What lovely finds. Blue and white is so fresh looking - my mother used to have a large collection blue and white china; sadly we couldn't keep it all when she died, but have kept a few pieces that we really liked.

Now, I'll be thinking of you everytime I run into a blue and white dish. Oh, my goodness, you should see the little shop near me. They have zillions of dishes, all arranged by color. It makes an awesome display! I'll take pics next time.

I have dishes like your white one, but they may be a bit larger. I use them for serving my vegetables. Great finds!

Those are lovely treasures Amelia...I think that must be a REALLY good treasure store! Love all of them.
Wonder if the white one is a soup tureen? But then you'd think it would have a ladle spot same as gravy...hmmmm? It's gorgeous no matter what it is *VBS* I collect(sort of)brown and white English Ironstone. Your mej-me was fun, and not boring at all...it's good to know what you like. Hugs, Finn

I vote for soup toureen........or veggie dish, if it is smaller. I think that blue sponged jar would look great on your counter with wooden cooking spoons and such in it! I agree with with Finn, it must be a great treasure store as I never find great stuff like that unless it is a antique store and then they want lots of $$$$$.
