Sadness - Happiness

This afternoon Leon and I went to the funeral of a 13 year old child.

Some funerals are celebrations of a long life of the individual. A couple of weeks ago we went to such a funeral. There were happy songs, jokes and lots of laughter. This man had lived a long life and was going to heaven...this he knew and those that knew him could vouch for the fact.

The funeral today was also sort of a celebration...in the fact this wee one will no longer be in pain like he experienced here. His body, as well as his brain, will be made whole. In his new home there are no missing parts. We know he is in heaven - so this makes the sadness of missing him turn in to one of happiness - knowing he can now play hide and seek with the angels.
