Quilting

Having scraps from the last quilt

led to this string quilt.

The piecing is complete…the hand quilting

will take place later on in the year.100_5764It is too small to be used for a lying

down snuggling quilt

on the sofa.

Perhaps it would work as a quilt

wrapped around your legs

while sitting.

The size is 58 inches down and 43 1/2 across.

Most of the fabric has

a valentine theme – not all – but used

some others that were in the same color

(shades of red) with a small pattern.

100_5770 I have another idea as what

to do with it…

how does using it as a table cloth

next February.

White dishes with red napkins would

make for a pretty setting.

Then maybe a white pitcher

with red tulips for the center piece.

Most of you readers know what a string

quilt means…but those of you who

do not – just let me know.

Love it! Such a great use for those leftover scraps. I love working with strings. I think it would look great used as a talbecloth.

Such a pretty quilt Amelia, and I love your idea for using it as a table runner. Isn't it satisfying to be able to use up lots of scraps like that?

Oh, sweetheart Amelia, I have NO clue as to what a string quilt is. I DO know, however, that this one is beautiful. :)))
It would look AWESOME as a table cover....
Come see me...I've missed you.

How big does a snuggling quilt need to be?
