Best Bargain

Like all grocery shoppers I am always on the lookout for a bargain.

This week our local store was having a sale on their Kraft Barbeque sauce...honey is our favorite.bbq Their sale price was two for $1.00...50 cents apiece...my kind of bargain. When selecting them to put in the grocery basket I saw they had a 25 cents coupon on them to be used at time of purchase. Wow, that brought the price to 25 cents each. With all the grilling, baked beans, etc that will be happening these next several months I knew I would be using quite a bit. I checked the "good thru" date - and it was a year off. Not to be greedy - but thrifty I put 12 bottles in the shopping cart.

What is your best bargain at the grocery store lately? Do you use coupons?

I don't think I have scored a bargain lately! I LOVE the Kraft honey barbeque sauce so that IS really a bargain.

That is a great, great deal!!! I haven't tried the honey flavor but will have to. Maybe I can talk you into shipping me a bottle...wait, you'd pay more for a stamp than the bottle of bbq sauce! :)

I do "coupon" quite a bit. :) I started in Sept and save TONS by matching the coupons up with the items listed in the sale papers.

In case you were not aware of this, there are several websites that do all the work for you. I use one for the south (Southernsavers.com) but I am sure there would be one for your area. I can click on the grocery store of my choice and she tells me what is in their weekly ad and if there is a coupon to go with the sale item. I have scored lots of free items by matching coupons with sales and am saving at least half off my groceries over last year!!!

Sometimes we use restaurant coupons...and that is fun and good. I think that is a great bargain you found!! Fourth of July barbeque?

Victoria is our coupon queen. I used them a little before my kiddos were born and then was too overwhelmed when they were small. I need to get back to it one day though.

Great deal on the bbq sauce.

Now that's something I've never bought, or made. DH and I don't go for barbecuing, we prefer to make lunch inside and then take it outside to eat. And it's so rare that evenings are warm enough to eat outside. I do like a bargain though.

first time commenting on your blog; great bargain you got!! we too got a great bargain on Kraft barbecue. Target had a $1.00 coupon for it and the price was 99 cents at the store so we basically got it free!

barbecuing and summer sort of goes hand in hand, don't you think?
