In Hiding

100_1662 Along the fence that is on the back of our two storage buildings is a very large possum grape vine. I just let it grow as I like looking at the greenery better than just fence posts with barb wire. The other day coming back from picking blackberries Leon spotted this nest. 100_1645 Now aren't these little babies just as cute as they can be? 100_1647 Daddy bird was always real close...Mother bird was off finding food to feed these ever hungry babies. 100_1663 In case you are not familiar with possum grapes - here is a picture of them.

100_1670 I know this picture has nothing to do with red birds or possum grape vines...but I must show you a recent picture of my sweet granddaughter. She was here for a short time on Saturday.

Blessings - babies and birds!

What a lovely colour those birds are; are they a type of finch? Our nesting season has come to an end now, as the birds all need to fatten up before the autumn chills come along. Can you eat your possum grapes? I've never heard of them before.

Hi Amelia! Your grapevine is so pretty and the baby birds are a bonus. I just love to watch those little babies grow - and your granddaughter is precious!

What a precious princess!!! (the birds aren't bad, either, all of our birds have flown the nest so we are empty nesters again) tee hee

Are the grapes edible? or are they just for the animals?

Ahhh, aren't the baby birds adorable but nothing like that cuteness of a granddaughter. She is so sweet and so pretty.

Your granddaughter is adorable. I know you had a great time w/her.

Thanks for your well wishes on our new little Jacob. Victoria and I were both able to be in the delivery room w/Meg and my brother. What an amazing experience. He is just a sweetie!
