Weight --- Plus or Minus

The temperature was a wonderful 82 degrees. Sun was shining wonderfully. Yes, the wind was blowing hard - but then again we always have wind in Oklahoma....sometimes more, sometimes less.

Had some yard work I wanted to do...so decided good time to put on shorts...start working on getting rid of those lily white legs...not that I get very dark - but more than what I have now.

Went to the closet...attempted to try on a pair of shorts...no way, Jose, did they fit. Tried on a second pair - finally got them fastened..wore them about three minutes and decided there was no way I could lean over to do any work in them...they were standing shorts only.

Put on a third pair...some better - much better if I did not fasten the button.

Well, I suppose this means either dieting (which I hate) or buying some new shorts. Probably purchasing new ones will be the easiest...just hate the thought I have to go a larger size - and I mean larger. Never was one of those dainty little women - weighed 9 1/2 pounds when I was born and have always been a bit on the hefty (yet curvy) side.

In discussing this with sweet husband he calmly said. "Well, no more stops by Sonic on the way home from church."

Do you suppose he means I had better diet instead of buying new shorts?

Oh my, I don't even want to think about stuffing all my "fluff" into shorts. That time is coming though...as it is 75 here.

Hi Amelia, I'm planning on doing yard work this weekend too, but I don't think I'll break out the shorts just yet! Don't won't to hurt the neighbors eyes or cause any car wrecks with the blinding white coming from my yard...my legs! LOLOL!

Both you and L.A. are two pretty Amelia's! :) ~hugs, Rhonda

I'm having the same problem, except that I don't stop at Sonic after church. It really doesn't matter where I stop or what I eat -IT ALL STICKS! Something about being over 40, I think!

I tried on a pair of blue jeans the other day and can't get them buttoned so I know what you mean. It was warm here too but not that warm! I am so ready for spring. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.

Oh you are so funny! Don't feel bad, I did the samething a few weeks ago....I guess I added a few extra pounds through the Winter. I mentioned it to Richard and he said..."You are not at all fat, you are just cornbread fed!" He is so silly!

I vote for buying new shorts ,life's to short to worry about dieting .
I can't wait to wear shorts but that won't happen for a few more months ,enjoy the nice weather .

That seems to be a winter hazard for so many of us - perhaps getting out and doing the gardening will be enough extra exercise to do the job? I'm refusing to buy any new clothes until I lose a few pounds - which does mean that I haven't had any new clothes for over a year, and wear the same few that still fit me, but I'm convinced that a little bit of extra exercise will do the job!

LOL Amelia...My answer to that problem is to buy only stretch waistbands...no buttons allowed...
Don't worry, that yard work will take it off of you...;-) Bo

I'm not even going there! I recommend stretch fabrics with elastic waistbands! LOL!

I have the exact same problem. I lost a lot of weight about three years ago and just got my clothes built up again, I don't want to buy new. So started the diet on Monday and climbed on the scale today. Would you believe I gained half a pound? I say, life is short and Sonic, here I come!

I started my Slimfast plan for lunch this past week. It has been a long winter.

I have been wondering,,,,how old do you have to be before "elastic waist" is not a 4-letter-word? Winter has been hard on me, too...tee hee

Oh girl....you know with the economy like it is factories are using less material to make clothes....just get a bigger size and be free knowing it is really your old size...it works for me! lol lol

I cannot even get into any of my shorts...well, maybe now that I have been dieting, I can! Hee! My white legs would blind the neighbors.
