Fan is Finally Finished

Yeah, the fan quilt is finally finished - all 110 blocks. Some days I thought I would never see the end of the hand quilting on this beauty. Each block would take at least one hour to complete.

I figure I have close to 120 hours in just the hand sewing.

I am pretty much pleased with the way it turned out. Oh yes, there are some places that did not do just quite right...but you will have to find them. I am not telling.

I have found the perfect place to hang my quilts for taking the pictures like this one. On the well house (which is this building) we have cup hooks placed 12 inches apart for hanging our lights at Christmas. I can pin safety pins on the quilt - spaced just right - and then hook them on the cup hooks - spread the quilt out on the grass - then shoot away with the camera. Of course, come bad weather time this arrangement won't work.

This close up shows the greens and the quilting .

You can see the quilting in this picture. Didn't get the quilt laying flat when I took the picture - but you get the idea anyway.
