Whirlpool Washer Warning

As promised the repairman came out today. That part was good. The part that wasn't good is the machine did not get fixed. He did some "work" on it - but told my DH it probably would not correct the problem. He said to run a load and see what happens.

Sure enough, I get about one-third way through a load and experienced the same problem as yesterday.

I called the service man and he said he would have to order the control panel.

We find out these Whirlpool washers that cost just pennies under $1,000.00 are not a good unit. Part of the machine is made by Fisher Paykel (an European company) and part is American made. The repairman said he had been working on Whirlpool washers for 44 years and these are a mess. He also said the front loading types are even worse than mine.

We had purchased the extended warranty when we bought it - so guess we will be having the service man here several times during the next four years. After spending that much money we can not afford to turn around and get another new machine.

So at this point, he is ordering the part and when it comes in he will install it.

Will we see him in one week, two weeks, or who knows!

Am I a happy lady? Well, yes with life in general - but with my washing machine woes "NO"!

oh, I know it! Been there.

I try to use a kind voice and a soft touch with my washer and dryer, just to keep them happy. I've been without one enough times to appreciate them when they're working.

Hope it gets fixed -- fast and well.

Bake cookies for the repair man. Sounds like you might be seeing him often. Hang in there. Sorry you have to deal with this.

I'm so sorry. What a mess, to think you got something nice, and you will be 'stuck' with it for a long time. I hope the new part fixes it, and that will be the end of it, and you can live happily ever after with it.

I'm still on my Maytag set from 12 1/2 years ago.

I know the feeling. I used to have a combined washer and dryer and although the washer part is great, the dryer is a pain.
At one stage I had the repair man here so often that my nosey neighbour thought I was having an affair with him.

love and hugs xxx
