Washer Worries

Back in the early part of January of this year we purchased a new washing machine. One of those that uses little water and does not have a agitator. No, it is not a front loader but is a long the same line as one. It does use 25% more water than the front loading kind. Also it falls in to about the same price range of one.

Well, today as I was doing the last load of laundry (Wednesday is laundry day) I got a "F" on the screen. Instruction manual says to hit pause/cancel once to clear code...then press start. If code appears again to call service.

So after doing this...the "F" appears again - then the count down of number of minutes left goes haywire. I finally was able to select a "drain and spin" cycle and that worked. Of this, I was glad as I did not want to wring out a load of laudry by hand.

I called the service dept on my warranty papers..they said I would have to get a hold of Whirlpool as it is still under mfg. warranty. They tried to connect me to that number - but something went wrong and I got some number that told me to enter my zip code...so I did...that gave me the number of my local Lowe's store (where we bought the washer). So I called them and they said I would have to contact the mfg's warranty dept. Anyway, he told me the phone number and what options to push. So, I did this, got a nice lady and got the service call set up.

So hopefully, tomorrow someone will come to do the repair.

This just leaves me with the question as to what the letter "F" stands for.

No, it is not the four letter word...I don't allow that word in my vocabulary or ears.

Do you suppose it stands for :

Funny
Fooey
Fa-la-la
Foolish
Fearless

or Fatso

Well, it probably really stands for FAILURE.

So, we will see if tomorrow some one shows up to fix my washer. Stay tuned for the next saga of this dirty problem.

OH NO!!!! I sure hope they get it fixed! Mom just bought a new washer and dryer a few months ago and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to use it. I tell her all of the time you need the manual out to figure out how to turn it on.

I hope all goes well with your washer, but if it doesn't, you'll get a new one, so all WILL END well!

The F could stand for "frazzled". It had enough of this laundry business for the day.

Good luck with your repairman. I would be a little upset that a almost new washer quit on me!

I think it stands for fudge. I'd just eat fudge til it's fixed. That'll teach it!
Sorry about the washer. I hope they can fix it on the spot when they get there. Sounds like you got good service when you spoke with someone. That's half the battle.
