Roses and Raspberries Quilt

Another quilt finished.

I started this (the machine piecing part) during the later months of 2007. Because of other quilts I was hand quilting this one had to wait it's turn.

The finished size is 84" X 95". It has a total of 42 blocks with 41 pieces per block. The sashing consists of 204 pieces. This math total is 1,976. Of course, there are more pieces in the border and binding. I only used 7 different fabrics in the creation.

As for the quilting - it was pretty simple. Some parts were x'd, some in the ditch and on the outside border used a single scallop.

I don't have any place large enough to spread it out for picture taking. So I just used the bed

At this point, it is just going into my stack of finished quilts. Who knows - who it will keep warm in the years to come.

ME! It could keep me warm! LOL Just thought I would throw that in there if you get really desperate to find it some one to adopt it. Beautiful quilt, I love the colors! Can you believe that you worked with that many pieces when you total them up??

I have a question for you, where do you get ideas for your quilts? I am going to have a quilt made but I wanted to see some patterns or something for some inspiration before I decide. :)

Any advice?
