Going, Going, Gone

100_1983   I liked this border many years ago, but now it is going to be removed and a new paint job will come about.

No more border is going up to replace it...wish I could put up crown moulding...might have to talk my honey into this idea.

We have worked a "deal" with daughter and SIL for them to do the painting of the hall, entry way and the computer room. I know, your next questions is, "What color". Well, normally I am very bold in colors for the bedrooms and bath rooms...but for the rest of the house just go with plain white...can change the colors of my decorations etc to give us a new look from time to time. 100_1984 This book case is in the computer room with a partial display of my "white" collection. Will have to pack them before moving the book case - certainly don't want to break any.

Before the "Painters" get here on Saturday we will have everything packed away as much as we can, blue painters tape everywhere, things pulled away from the wall and covered up, etc...just as much done as possible to make the job easier for them.

Also a good deal on this arrangement is we get to play and love the grandkids while their Mommy and Daddy are painting. You can't beat a deal/arrangement like this.

Praise for the day: children who give us wonderful grandchildren!

That IS a great deal! I need to have my LR, DR and kitchen painted. Wish my crew were closer. Usually I like antique white for the walls but as I am getting older, I think I am getting more adventurous...well, not too much! I like those neutral beige colors now. Just a little more warmth than white.

Oh how lucky you are to have children near by to paint for you .Did the border come off easy ?I remember when we bought a house some years ago I swear there had to be 5 layers of wall paper .
Your white collection is beautiful .

New Paint! Love having a room painted. It is such a great feeling.

Love your white collection.

Pulling borders down and putting the paint tape up--the not so fun part, but the payoff will come.

Sounds like a good deal to me! I HATE hate hate to paint. Needless to say, we haven't painted since we moved in, and then I paid a friend to do it. I too have border, and so farn it's not bugging me, so I'll leave well enough alone for now.

Enjoy your new room redo!
be blessed,
Michelle

Sounds like you will make out pretty good in this and your kids will get a little break from the kids too. Enjoy your new paint!

Nothing like a new paint job to freshen up a room...

I took all my border off this year, too,,,it looks old after a year or so...Have you tried spraying it with fabric softener? it comes off so much easier.

Have fun with the grandbabies!

I love to redo, except for the hard work. It is just like a breath of fresh air. Good luck.

Oh, Amelia, remember back in the winter when I removed a border in my bedroom and repainted? It was a job but I sure am enjoying it now.
Lucky you to have someone do your painting AND you get to play with the kids. You can't possibly beat a deal like THAT!! I love it.
I love your white collection..hope you will show us more!

Our first house was fifty years old and the original wallpaper was under layers of paint. By the time we stripped everything off I was allergic to wallpaper. LOL.

Your white collection is beautiful.

I hope you have a lot of fun.
